Everything Blooms in its Own Time
As an artist who appreciates all forms of art, papermaking is a meditative and gradual process. The process begins with the preparation of paper pulp and blending various materials including plants, recycled paper, or old clothing. Each sheet is cast from a large container of water, binder, pulp, and plant material (if applicable) using a handmade mold and deckle frame. Pressed plants are then added between two sheets of paper. Each sheet is carefully pressed to ensure that no excess water remains and dries flat over a 4–6-day period.
